The Canadian Coast Guard decided to relocate its helicopter operations to Quebec City Jean-Lesage International Airport (YQB). The client needed to plan the construction of a final approach and take-off area (FATO), as well as 3-4 parking stands for day, night, and IFR operations. OCTANT Aviation provided the customer with two heliport implementation options taking into account regulations, standards, operations and the restrictive geographical location of the site. Multivariate risk models have been developed to allow the assessment of the two options by the client.
