AIRPORT GROUND HANDLING
AIRPORT SERVICES ATTENDANT
The following services are included in this training:
- Description and inspection of aerodrome areas
- Aircraft guidance and towing
- Powering aircrafts with a ground power unit (GPU)
- Aircraft replenishing (planes and helicopters)
- Aircraft de-icing
- Baggage handling
The content covers all aspects of ground services. By the end of this course, participants will have a basic practical and theoretical understanding of operational principles, allowing them to provide high-quality service at their aerodrome. The course also includes an introduction to the different zones and equipment at an airport or aerodrome as well as the aircraft that use it.
Goals
At the end of the training, the attendant will be able to:
- Perform inspection of the runway and the maneuvering area.
- Perform to provide ground services for aircraft departures and arrivals
- Connect and disconnect the power supply to an aircraft (GPU)
- Refuel an aircraft, observing relevant safety precautions
- de-ice different types of aircraft in compliance with safety measures,
- Identify the various de-icing and anti-icing products approved in Canada and perform Brix tests with a refractometer,
